その少女が１２年後にまた誘拐されます。
容疑者は１２年前に間違って誘拐した犯人の娘。その娘は人気漫画家と結婚したが突然失踪してしまう。
というストーリーです。
プロローグとして１２年前の事件があり、そこからは誘拐された娘の家族と、妻を探す人気漫画家、犯人を追い詰める警察と３つの視点が並行して進みます。
そうした中で、二組の家族の問題点が、浮き彫りにされます。
やや強引なところは見受けられるものの、最後におどろきのドンデン返しが待っています。
